2026 BNA Survey Results: What We Heard & What’s Next

As we prepare for the year ahead, the Biscayne Neighborhood Association conducted our 2026 Community Survey to better understand what matters most to you. Your feedback helps guide our advocacy, programming, and priorities — and this year, we saw some meaningful shifts compared to 2025.

Here are the key takeaways.

Residential Members Are Overall Happy

The good news first: overall satisfaction among residential members remains strong. Most respondents reported being satisfied or very satisfied with their BNA membership and the direction of the organization. This tells us that our core mission — advocating for Edgewater residents and strengthening community engagement — is resonating.

That said, satisfaction does not mean complacency. The survey clearly shows where we can do better, and we take that seriously.

2026 Top Priorities: What Changed

While public safety and traffic remain the top concern, several priorities shifted in importance compared to 2025:

  • Infrastructure & Sustainability rose significantly, moving from a lower ranking last year to one of the top concerns for 2026.
  • Parks & Green Spaces continue to be a strong priority, reflecting the community’s desire for quality public spaces.
  • Completion of the Baywalk remains a key issue, consistent with prior years.
  • Condo legislation rounds out the top concerns, underscoring the need for resident-focused policy advocacy.

These changes reflect the realities of continued development in Edgewater and the growing importance of long-term planning alongside immediate quality-of-life issues.

Events: High Satisfaction, Clear Opportunities

Among those who attended BNA events, overall satisfaction is high, particularly for forums and issue-focused programming. Educational and advocacy-driven events consistently receive strong ratings.

That said, you also shared thoughtful feedback on how events can improve:

  • Better and earlier promotion
  • More flexible scheduling and accessibility
  • Clearer agendas with a balance of substance and engagement

We hear you — and we’re committed to evolving our events to better fit your schedules and expectations.

Communication: We Heard You Loud and Clear

If there was one message that came through unmistakably, it was this: communication and event announcements need improvement.

Residents told us they want:

  • Clearer, more concise emails
  • Better use of visuals and formatting
  • More consistent and timely updates
  • Stronger promotion of events well in advance

This feedback is invaluable. Interest in the BNA is high, but the way we communicate has sometimes created barriers to participation. Fixing that is a top priority for 2026.

What This Means Going Forward

Your input gives us a clear mandate:

  • Strengthen how we communicate
  • Improve how and when we announce events
  • Continue advocating on the issues that matter most — safety, infrastructure, green space, and smart growth

We are already working on updates to our communication strategy and event planning model to ensure your interest turns into meaningful, active participation.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey. Your voice shapes the future of Edgewater — and the BNA is committed to listening, adapting, and delivering.

More updates coming soon.
