As we look ahead to 2026, the Biscayne Neighborhoods Association (BNA) is starting the year with important conversations and hands-on community action. January brings two major community events and two City of Miami Commission meetings—setting the tone for an engaged, informed, and proactive year.

January 15: Legislative Update Meeting at the Miami Woman’s Club

On January 15, BNA will host its first legislative meeting of the year at the Miami Woman’s Club.

We are pleased to welcome Damian Pardo, who will join us to provide updates on key legislative and policy matters impacting our neighborhood and the City of Miami.

Topics to be covered include:

• New developments in Miami law
• A detailed update on the Edgewater Resilience Fund
• The latest information on the Margaret Pace Park master plan
• An overview of new condo laws affecting residents, boards, and property managers

This meeting is designed to ensure residents have direct access to information, clarity on upcoming changes, and the opportunity to better understand how local legislation affects everyday life in Edgewater.

January 31: First Community Clean-Up of the Year

On January 31, BNA will host its first neighborhood clean-up of 2026, with multiple clean-up stations across Edgewater.

This initiative will be held in collaboration with SeaKeepers International, continuing our shared commitment to environmental stewardship and neighborhood pride.

What to know:

• Multiple clean-up locations throughout Edgewater
• Open to residents, families, and volunteers
• Students can earn up to 3 hours of community service
• Supplies and guidance will be provided on-site

These clean-ups are a great way to give back, meet neighbors, and make a visible impact in our community.

With legislative discussions, commission meetings, and community service opportunities all happening in January, BNA is proud to kick off 2026 with momentum and purpose. City of Miami Commission meetings take place twice each month, with the first two scheduled for January 8 and January 22 at City Hall. Residents who wish to attend, participate, or help represent Edgewater are encouraged to contact us—we’re always glad to have community voices at the table.
