Commission Meeting Agenda: Oct. 9th, 2025

The next City of Miami Commission Meeting is this Thursday, October 9th at 9:30 AM at City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive. Several items on the agenda will directly affect Edgewater. Your attention and participation are critical. As part of our continued advocacy for a safer, more transparent, and better-connected Edgewater, the Biscayne Neighborhoods Association has reviewed this week’s Miami City Commission agenda. Below are the key items that directly impact our community and the positions the BNA supports.

CA.5 – Support for the Miami Center for Mental Health and Recovery

Sponsored by Commissioner Ralph “Rafael” Rosado, this initiative aims to reduce homelessness and reliance on incarceration by addressing mental illness through dedicated treatment facilities. The BNA supports this item, as it directly improves public safety and helps reduce the homelessness challenges felt throughout Edgewater and neighboring districts.

DI.4 – Traffic Studies Around Parks and Schools

Also sponsored by Commissioner Ralph “Rafael” Rosado, this directive could set an important precedent for improving traffic and pedestrian safety around key public areas. The BNA supports this initiative and encourages the inclusion of Edgewater’s parks, particularly Margaret Pace Park, in future traffic safety studies to protect residents, families, and visitors.

FR.2 – Vessel Anchorage Limitations

Proposed by Commissioner Damian Pardo, this measure would restrict vessel anchorage in specific Biscayne Bay areas to enhance water safety and preserve scenic views. The BNA strongly supports this action as it aligns with our ongoing efforts to complete the Baywalk and ensure a cleaner, safer, and more enjoyable waterfront for all.
